The following series was dedicated to Hallie’s late grandmother. Stylistically inspired by the abstract expressionist female artists of the 40’s and 50’s (Mitchell, Frankenthaler, Hartigan, Krasner, and de Kooning to name a few), each piece displays painterly expressions brought on through direct remembered experiences. These works display an intuitive and personal response to memories of locations, events and clothing her grandmother wore that were impactful to the artist. Thoughtful color palettes, fleeting passes of paint and mark-making manifest Hamilton’s emotional response to this relationship and life’s changes. See the entire series here.
