Guinn + Hamilton Art Show

November 16–17 & 23–24, 2019, 12-6pm

Big Medium’s East Austin Studio Tour (EAST) is a free, annual, self‑guided art event where artists open their studios to the public. This year, Hamilton will be showing as a guest artist of Tyler Guinn at his studio. These two abstract expressionist artists have come together to create a visually complimentary show in a non-traditional warehouse setting. Both artists will be present to discuss their process and the inspiration behind their work.

Opening Reception

Sat, Nov 16 | 4-6pm | 701 Tillery St, Unit B, Austin, TX 78702

*Complimentary drinks provided by Waterloo Gin

New Work!

This new series is dedicated to Hallie's late grandmother. Stylistically inspired by the abstract expressionist female artists of the 40's and 50's (Mitchell, Frankenthaler, Hartigan, Krasner and de Kooning to name a few), each piece displays painterly expressions brought on through direct remembered experiences. These works display an intuitive and personal response to memories of locations, events, and clothing that were impactful to the artist. Thoughtful color palettes, fleeting passes of paint and mark making manifest Hamilton's emotional response to this relationship and life's changes. Take a look at these new works now.
